I was a tutor for America Reads at a local elementary school for four semesters. The school mainly consisted of lower socioeconomic students with English as a second language. Because of this language barrier, I learned how to effectively communicate with my students and help them in any way possible, even when their homework was not in English. I have never taken for granted the subjects that have come naturally to me and enjoy helping others who have more difficulty mastering those subjects. I took AP classes all throughout high school and have maintained a 3.92 GPA through five semesters of college courses.
