I attended an Early College where I was blessed to graduate from high school with an Associates of Arts degree from Lone Star College . While in high school, I was an AVID tutor my junior and senior years. I had the opportunity to be on both of side of the AVID program, as student and tutor. I loved tutoring for AVID because it was a facilitation instead of teaching. I love tutoring because it is another form of empowerment. The students took pride and ownership of their learning. When students come back to me with smiles on their faces, because they passed their latest test will understanding, I rejoice! On top of being an certified AVID tutor, I am also a Teaching Assistant for Intro to Chemistry at my university.
