I am a former English teacher and a current Spanish teacher, with tutoring experience dating back to my days at the University of North Texas. I began tutoring when I was a college freshman, and helped other students keep up in Biology and Chemistry. I also helped students with their essays and edited graduate papers. While these are areas of longstanding experience, my professional background means that English, Spanish, and Grammar are also specialties of mine.I originally started tutoring because I was just trying to help my friends and classmates, but I became serious about tutoring and teaching when I began seeing the moments when my students understood a concept for the first time. That moment represents progress, and it's addictive to be a part of it! The great thing about it is that it usually goes hand in hand with confidence, as the more a student understands, the better he or she feels. That's what I want for my students - that combination of understanding and confidence in themselves.As evidenced by my career choice, I like to study languages. I also like learning about history and spending time with friends.
