As a graduate student and undergraduate, I have spent considerable time as a tutor at my college's writing center. At this job, I have learned how to effectively diagnose immediate grammar, punctuation, and style issues. The writing center I have worked for emphasizes instruction over intervention. My goal is to teach a client how to be better readers of his or her own work. GRE Verbal: 620, GRE Analytical Writing: 5/6 I have taken graduate courses on scholarly writing, bibliographical methods, and writing pedagogy. As an undergraduate I minored in German. I have taught Freshman English composition for two semesters. I have pursued work as a copy editor and I spent a semester as a professor's research assistant.
