Experience
I have over two decades of teaching experience. I'm available to tutor pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, differential equations, geometry, elementary math, middle school math, statistics, trigonometry, multivariable calculus, arithmetic, finite mathematics, discrete math, and a multitude of other math subjects. I received degrees from both Oregon State University and Portland State University. I've worked with students of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds. I have experience tutoring students with special needs, and for the past twelve years I've helped an autistic student pursue their love for math and science. They now have their Ph.D. in Systems Science and Mathematics, and we are currently studying together for the Society of Actuaries exams. I look forward to meeting new students and helping them overcome their math fears and struggles! When I'm not tutoring I enjoy sound design and music theory. I design sounds in Max/MSP, and I recently created a sequencer that generates rhythms and melodies and can take a group of instruments and harmonize them. I've also created time stretches and pitch shifters using granular synthesis.
