I earned my undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of North Texas. I love both geometry and algebra and I am passionate about teaching. I've been tutoring for more than three years and I am constantly striving to make myself a better tutor for my students. I currently offer tutoring services in a variety of subjects, including algebra 1 & 2, calculus 1-3, differential equations, discrete math, geometry, math, elementary math, middle school math, pre-calculus, trigonometry, competition math, multivariable calculus, arithmetic, algebra 3/4, finite mathematics, and pre-algebra. I also tutor similar courses for IB and AB students and I help students prepare for standardized exams such as the CLEP, SAT, PSAT, GMAT, STAAR, and GRE. My philosophy as a tutor is that it is best to help students learn how to help themselves. This may include teaching them study strategies in addition to the core subject area concepts. It also includes training them how to ask themselves questions rather than requiring and external source of guidance. I find that once students become more engaged in their own education, and begin to take ownership of their learning experience, they improve more rapidly than when they rely on someone else always telling them what to do next.
